Harry Kane is a type of player who can adapt to any team he wears. But this does not seem to suit the MU at the moment.
- High price
Tottenham president Daniel Levy has long been known as a tough negotiator. They will not sell Kane cheap to any team and especially MU, a direct competitor in England.
On the other hand, the financial crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic did not spare any club. CEO Ed Woodward personally announced that MU’s purchases this summer will not take place like the previous years, there will be no deals up to hundreds of millions of pounds.
- History of injury
Since last season, Kane has played only 48 of Tottenham’s 67 matches in the Premier League. All because of injury reasons. Since the beginning of 2019, Kane has had three injuries and has to take 1 to 2 months to recover.
Of these, 2 are due to Kane ankle injuries and 1 is in the thigh muscles. Spending 200 million pounds for an injury-sensitive star is what Woodward and his colleagues at MU are considering.
- Effect on salary fund
If Kane signs a contract with MU, he will surely receive the highest salary in the team. The manager at Old Trafford must have not forgotten the lesson of spending nearly £ 500,000 a week to recruit Alexis Sanchez and finally miserable when the Chilean player played badly.
David de Gea asked for a salary equivalent to Sanchez after his contributions to MU for many years. After many negotiations, the heads of MU also reduced this figure to 375 thousand pounds / week.
- The younger players are affected
The trio of MU strikers Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have scored a total of 47 goals for them this season. In particular, Martial is the most frequently kicked, has made 16 goals and showed a clear improvement.
Solskjaer’s faith in the French striker paid off. Martial has a smart play style, good positioning and good possession. He became the first player since compatriot Eric Cantona to score in three consecutive Manchester derby.
